Mary-Beth Archer, LMSW (she/her)

You have entered a season of parenthood you weren’t prepared for. Maybe you and your child are dealing with the fallout of a painful separation or divorce, the unexpected loss of a family member or close friend, or your child experienced the unthinkable and was hurt by someone you trusted. You want the best for your child and for yourself, but you find that you’re just going through the motions of life. Working with a therapist to identify your feelings and grow with them instead of getting stuck in them may change the way you and your child’s story unfolds and help you walk a path of growth and thriving together.
Mary-Beth is a therapist who believes every story, no matter how dark or grievous it may be, can be integrated into a story of hope, healing and, ultimately, flourishing. She believes that every child, regardless of diagnosis, labels, or behavioral issues, is gifted and capable of contributing their unique gifts to this world. She will walk with you and your child as you learn to use new skills to grow and thrive.
Mary-Beth completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work at The University of Texas at Austin. She has experience working with children of all ages and has four children of her own. She is thrilled to be a part of the team at Waves and her clinical interests include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and play therapy. She is currently working on accruing clinical hours for her licensure as a clinical social worker and play therapist.
In her free time, you’ll find her hiking, playing with her kids, and hosting art play groups as often as she can.
